Australia started day two at the Gabba 0-28 and lost both openers early to India's spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. Then Travis Head and Steve Smith scored centuries each in a 241-run stand, with Head posting 152 and Smith 101. Their partnership came to an end at the hands of Bumrah, who picked up a 5-for after taking advantage of the second new ball.
